Meet The Author

Greetings Everyone!

My name is HetHeru AnkhBaRa. I've always been enthusiastic about great writing, and couldn’t be happier to have turned my passion into a thriving career as a professional Author.

As a professional storyteller, I’m adept at using my imaginative thinking and creative flair to bring my stories to life in engaging and entertaining ways. My books are creative, innovative, and filled with excitement. Some of my titles include; Nia's Trip To The Library, Ashley's Dream, Kiya's Apple Tree, Dear Mama, My Baba- My Hero, Rain Please Stay, I Am Beautiful, Thank You, Eating Healthy Is Fun and much more.

I am super proud of all of my books. I am thrilled to know and share that my books are making an incredible impact on the youth. I have received excellent feedback from everyone, and I am grateful for that. I like to mention that Dear Mama, is my first book available in four languages (English, Spanish, Creole, and Kiswahili.) All of my books are rich in culture, inspiration, motivation, and they contain wonderful lessons, too. All written with love.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Theater. I also have an Associate's Degree in African Studies. I am the C.E.O. of Healing Blue Lotus, Vice President of Java Star Inc., Product Manager of Bee AMAZING Lip Balm, a certified Yoga instructor, a dancer, and a voice actor. I grew up in New York City, and I am currently living in Central Islip, New York. I am the mother of three incredible girls.

I have 17 years of teaching experience. I have had the opportunity to teach children ranging from preschool all the way through high school. I started teaching in Harlem, New York and I have taught in the Bronx, Queens, Nassau County (in Valley Stream District 24) and Suffolk County also.

As an author, I enjoy visiting schools for book reading, storytelling, book signings and mini-lessons that will inspire the best in all of us!
